Carlisle Weekly Herald, Carlisle, PA, Thursday, Aug 27, 1874:
SAD CASE OF DROWNING -- On Monday afternoon, the 24th inst., while a part of men from Dillsburg were fishing in the Yellow Breeches at Brindle's Mill, Michael Kline, one of the party, got into a hole or gulch in the stream, and, in spite of all the efforts put forth by the part, was drowned. He was a married man, and leaves a wife and two children. The hole in which he was drowned was torn out by the freshet which followed the battle of Gettysburg.

The PA Veterans Burial card indicates Michael was a veteran of Co C, 166th Regt Inf during the Civil War, with service 11/10/1862 to 7/28/1863.
