Mrs. Minnie Blevins Akin, 86, daughter of the late James and Nancy Ann Jones Blevins, was born 7 Apr 1884 in Taylor Co and died at 2:40 pm Mon 13 Apr 1970 at the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church at the time of her death. She united in marriage to Mr. Leonard Lonzo Akin, who preceded her in death on 1 Jul 1967. To this union were born 5 sons and 4 daughters: Omer Akin, Woodson Akin, Curtis Akin all of Greensburg; James Akin of Magnolia, Jack Akin Louisville, Mrs. Paul Gardner, Mrs. Lloyd Pickett both of Greensburg; Mrs. Arvin Pierce and Mrs. Raymond Pierce both of Bullitt Co. Mrs. Akin is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 31 great grand children and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 pm Wed. 15 Apr 1970 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Greensburg Cemetery. Rev. Manly Towles officiated.
