Louise Akin Pickett

Louise Akin Pickett, 78, of Green County, Ky., died on Sunday, April 11, 2004, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, Ky.

Daughter of the late Lonnie Akin and Minnie Blevins Akin, she was born on Sunday, Sept. 20, 1925, in Green County.

She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She was married to Lloyd G. Pickett on Oct. 23, 1942. He preceded her in death in Jan. 10, 1989.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Terry Lile of Campbellsville; one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Janet Pickett of Campbellsville; three sisters, Eva Gardner, Maudie Pierce and Marie Thompson, all of Greensburg; and five grandchildren, Mike Pickett of Greensburg, Michelle Dobson, Stacy Forbis and Samantha Lile, all of Campbellsville, and Scott Pickett of Louisville, Ky.

Also preceding her in death were two sons, Lloyd Pickett Jr. on Sept. 24, 1962 and David Michael Pickett on Jan. 11, 1954; and five brothers, Omer Akin, Jack Akin, James Akin, Woodson Akin and Curtis Akin.

Funeral was on Wednesday, April 14 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial followed in the Greensburg Cemetery. The Rev. Darrell Vance and the Rev. Bobby Cole officiated.

Pallbearers were Scott Pickett, Brett Dobson, Mike Compton, Dalton Pickett, Winfred Bonta, Barry Dobson and Raymond Thompson.
