The Correctionville News, 23 June 1938, page 3: William Baldwin, who had been ill for several months, passed away at Sioux City on Thursday evening. He had a severe cold and pneumonia early last winter and his heart was left in a weakened condition. William DeWitt Baldwin was born at Center Junction, Jones County, Iowa, on April 24, 1870. In early youth he moved to Washta. Later he lived at Holstein and worked as a mason's helper for many years. He lived the last years of his life in Cushing where he was a friend to all who knew him. He died June 16, 1938, at the age of 68 years, 1 month and 22 days. He leaves three brothers, Edgar and Charles Baldwin of Cushing, and Joseph Baldwin of Akron, and many other relatives. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Cushing Methodist Church with Rev. A.C. Long in charge. Interment was in the Cushing Cemetery in charge of the Wilson-Hull Service of Correctionville.
