JAMES WESLEY ARNOLD WAS THE SON OF OTTO ROBERT AND DELLA MANIS ARNOLD.

HE MARRIED BETTY EVELYN ANDERSON ON 11 APR 1964 IN HAWKINS COUNTY, TENNESSEE. GOD BLESSED THIS MARRIAGE WITH THE FOLLOWING CHILDREN: KATHY, KAREN, KIMBERLY AND KEVIN.

SURGOINSVILLE - James Wesley Arnold, 58, Stanley Valley Road, went to be with the Lord Tuesday (March 30, 1999) after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Hawkins County, he recently retired from Vulcan Materials as a drill operator with 35 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Della Manis Arnold.

Surviving are his wife, Betty (Anderson) Arnold, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Kathy Barton, Russellville, Tenn., Mrs. Karen Mullins and Mrs. Kimberly Buttry, both of Rogersville; a son, Kevin Arnold, of the home; two grandchildren, Dustin Arnold and Jason Barton; two sisters, Mrs. Jim (Dorothy) Sandidge and Mrs. Tom (Norma) Allen, both of Surgoinsville; three brothers, Reed Arnold, Surgoinsville, Kenneth Arnold, Church Hill and Charles Arnold, Surgoinsville; one special uncle, Eugene Manis, Church Hill; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill. Friends may call anytime at the residence, 2831 Stanley Valley Road. Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Wayne Ferrell and the Rev. Edward Johnson officiating. Music will be provided by the Fishers Creek Quartet. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethel Church Cemetery (Stanley Valley). Pallbearers will be John Sandidge, Larry Allen, Mike Allen, Tony Arnold, Jeffrey Arnold and Larry Manis.
