First married Ida Bell Ratliff about 1895. While pregnant she was kicked by a horse and died 1903 while they were living in Portales, New Mexico.
Children of that union were one child who died at birth,
Robert Andrew Kelley, Jr. 7/14/1898 to 7/30/1919
Bertha Ray Kelley Dunham, 12/19/1899 to 11/13/1994 and
Flora Irene Kelley Howard, 11/2/1901 to 8/4/1991

He then married Virginia Annie Ray March 28, 1915. Children of second marriage: V.W., Virginia Mae, Nancy Jack, Charles Lee, Monte Jo, Roy Alvin, Frances, Fay (the latter two died in infancy).

He owned R.A. Kelley Grocery on Mercer Street in Quanah until the mid 1940's. He would never let a family go without groceries - if they said they had no money they could "charge it."

He was the first patient in the surgery room of the "old" Quanah Hospital and his son V.W. was the last patient for surgery when the building was being demolished for the "new" hospital. Each had an emergency appedectomy.
