Likely born Williamstown, Berkshire County, Massachusetts -- father William counted in 1790 census there. Birchard in Addison County, Vermont, 1820; in Clinton County, New York, 1830 and 1840. Son William J. Guynnup buried Douglass Cemetery. Listed in McLellan Cemetery Survey.

Spelling "Guynnop" on the marker is unlike that used by father William Guynnup or son William, who also used Guynnup. Perhaps "op" was the error of the stonecutter. Brothers Thomas and John settled on Guynup.

Son Henry, a politician living in Warren County, chose a spelling easier to pronounce correctly, Gwinup.

Widow Sally Jones Guynnup remarried, to Mr. Baker, but was widowed again by 1850. Her burial site is not known. Shown 1850 and 1860 censuses living with daughter Hannah Guynnup Wilson's family in Clinton County.

WILSON'S 1908 Minnesota death certificate. States mother's maiden name,HANNAH GUYNNUP. Hannah's husband was EDWARD L.
