Lied about age to join Navy at age 16, was born in 1918 . Was the only surviving boy in a family of 10 girls ( one sister and one brother died in infancy for a total of 13 live births.) Was on the battleship Pennsylvania at Pearl Harbor Dec 7, 1941. Married and divorced with no children. Full name was Charles William Albert Kiley. Was honorably discharged on June 27, 1946 as a "chief boatswains mate" (sic). Stated to Navy he was born in 1917 instead of 1918. Some of the ships he served on were: the Wharton, the Oaklahoma, the Saratoga, the Pennsylvania, the Wedderburn, the Moosehead.
He was six feet tall with blonde hair and blue eyes. His only marriage was to a Margarite ("pete") Boggs Smith in Akron, Ohio on March 12, 1946.
