HENRY LEWIS WEBBER
Henry Lewis Webber, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Webber was born in Fremont Mahaska County, Iowa December 14th, 1870, and departed this life at his home in Unionville, Missouri on June 26th, 1955 being at the time of his death 84 years 6 months and 12 days of age.

On September 12th, 1893 he was united in marriage to Cora Ann Playle, who preceded him in death on January 27th, 1952. To this union eight children were born, all of whom survive him.

During his early life his chief occupation was farming and he resided on various farms in Putnam County, Missouri. Later he turned to the trade of house moving and in the prime of his life suffered a severe injury in this capacity, breaking both limbs. But undaunted by this crippling accident, he continued to be a hard and tireless worker. He asked no quarter from any man but stood ready to
help anyone who needed it.

He leaves to mourn his passing two daughters, Mrs.John Lynch, Unionville, Missouri; Mrs. Fred Rasmussen, Mukilteo, Washington; six sons, Glen, Arthur, Laverne and Robert of Unionville, Missouri; Lawrence of Noma, Iowa and Ralph of Ottumwa, Iowa; 23 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; three half sisters, Mrs. Ira Roquet, Fremont, Iowa; Mrs. W. F. Koontz, Greely, Colorado; Mrs. Rhetta Bartlett of California; a half brother, Ray Webber, Ottumwa, Iowa and a host of relatives and friends.

The funeral was at the Comstock Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 28th at two o'clock p.m. He was laid to rest beside that of his wife in the Unionville cemetery. The bearers were his grandsons, Hubert Webber, Gene Brinkley, Edgar Webber and Ernest Russell Webber.
