Denton was a very quiet man but he loved to tease his grandchildren and feed them coffee with LOTS of good cream and sugar. Denton worked for the Burlington Northern as did his Mother's brothers and grandfather before him.
He married Ada Grace Walton on Dec 24, 1915 and of this union 4 children were born. Laura Grace, Charles Franklin, Theo Fern and Denton Wilson.
Denton told that he was born in White, MO; however other documentation says he was born in Quitman, MO (where his parents lived). He was the only son (out of 5 children) of Maria Collins and Henry Porter. However an older sister Analiza Porter and a younger sister, Daisy Lorraine died as infants.
Denton was loved by everyone that knew him. He passed away a little over a year after his wife Ada.
