She was born February 28, 1927, in Arnold High School.
On April 27, 1947, she married Glenn Walker in Arnold. They made their home in the Arnold and Callaway area where they farmed. In 1965, they moved to North Platte where she worked at W.J.O'Connors. In 1971, the couple moved to Cozad where she was employed with Monroe Auto Equipment Co. for 16 years as the head custodian. Mr. Walker preceded her in death in 1993.
On Nay 17, 1997, she married Bill Hayward in Cozad. In their retirement, they enjoyed traveling and pitching horseshoes.
She was a member of Parkview United Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge, Crusaders and VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed woodworking, quilting and helping people by volunteering. She will be remembered as a very loving grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Bill; two sons, Terry (Orpha)Walker of Cozad and Steven Walker of Cozad and his friend, Carol Schaffer of Kearney; two daughters, Charlene (David) Peck of Cozad and Charlotte Talbott and her friend, Dean Herrington of Elwood; a brother, Bob (Mona)Crow of Arnold; three sisters, Helen (Gerald) Dorris of Kearney, Sharon Leonard of North Platte and Kate (Dwayne) Henry of Callaway; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Eloise was also preceded in death by a granddaughter; a great grandson, Tyler; a sister, Burdette Deterding and a brother, Darrell Crow.
Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 25, 2008, at Parkview United Methodist Church in Cozad with Rev. Jaime Farias officiating. Burial was in the Cozad Cemetery.
