Miss Hannah Craft Is Dead at 84
Miss Hannah Craft, 84, one of Montezuma oldest citizens died early Saturday morning, July 8, in St. Elizabeth hospital in Danville, Illinois where she had been a patient for the past ten days. Death was caused by a kidney ailment. Previously she had undergone two operations for cancer.

Miss Craft was born near Scotland Ilinois on September 12, 1855 a daughter of Francis and Cynthia Harper Craft, but spent most of her life in Montezuma. A brother, Eli, with whom she made her home preceded her in death several years ago. Following his death she went to the farm of Mr. and Mrs. James Payne near Chrisman, Illinois where she spent about ten year's, supervising the household affairs, returning occasionally for short visits to her home here which she never closed. Her final return was two years ago at which time her health had failed.

Miss Craft, was a member of Montezuma Methodist church. Surviving relatives are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 P.M. Sunday at the Methodist church of this place with the Rev. A.L. Vermillion officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery
