Alice was born on August 23rd, 1938 in Holland Texas to Joe and Olga Matl. Alice had been a resident of the Austin and surrounding areas including Taylor, Pflugerville and Cedar Park for her entire life. During her professional career, she worked for the State of Texas and retired after a long and distinguished career with the Federal Government.
Alice devoted her life to her family and her faith. Alice was a lifelong member of the Catholic Family Fraternal of Texas – K.J.Z.T. # 93 where she served as President. Alice enjoyed travelling to many fun and exciting destinations with the Granger Roadrunners Travel Group and the Horseshoe Bay Travel Group.
Those left behind to cherish her memories are her three beloved sons Mark (and partner Matt), Michael, Jeffrey (and wife Rae Ann), her brother Lambert Matl and wife Virginia and Aunt Roselee Prikryl. Alice was a very loving and giving person, a wonderful mother, daughter, sister and friend to many and will be greatly missed by everyone.
Visitation and a Rosary will be held on Monday, July 11th, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills, 9700 Anderson Mill Rd. in North Austin. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 12th, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10205 Ranch Road 620 North in Austin. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas. Following the service, a meal will be served at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church to celebrate her life.
