Mable R. (Sutherlin) Gilliland, 78, of Bloomington, died August 15, 2006 at Bloomington Hospital.
She was born June 28, 1928 to Robert E. Sutherlin and Violet Pearl Sutherlin in Broadview. She is a beloved wife and mother and compassionate friend. She is survived by three children, Linda (Mike) Stines of Bloomington and Norman, IN, Sheila (Dan) Haggard of Pocatello, Idaho, and Darrel (Nancy) Gilliland of Bloomington; one sister, Josephine Dill Bryant of Elkton, Kentucky; one half sister, Mary Kellogg of Seville, Florida, and one half brother, Earl Sutherlin of Bloomington; six grandchildren; one step grandson; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert D. Gilliland, and one daughter, Wanda Leonhardt; two half sisters, Ona Jones Whitaker of Bloomington, Beatrice Miller of Illinois; and two half brothers, Bob and Zener Sutherlin.
Services will be at Allen Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Friday. Tom Ellsworth of Sherwood Oaks Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be at Payne Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
