( s/o Joel Byrd & Mary Newbern) ; he enlisted in 1863 in Company 'I' 4th Ga. Cavalry and was killed on Johnson's Island, SC in the prison camp,
he was married to Sarah Ann Phillips (1823-1903), which both are buried at Shiloh Cemetery in Pierce County..
