Doris Elaine Craig, 75, of Franklin died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at her home.

Mrs. Craig was born July 16, 1933, in Harrisonburg, VA, and was the daughter of the late Robert Allen Eye and Jessie Magnolia Guyer Eye.

She graduated from Franklin High School in 1951 and graduated from Bridgewater College. She retired in 1995 as a schoolteacher from Franklin High School, where she taught English and home economics. She was a member of Franklin United Methodist Church, where she was church organist.

Her husband, Stanley Lewis Craig, preceded her in death Jan. 18, 2007.

Survivors include two daughters, Doris Ann Dove and husband, Larry of Upper Tract, and Mary Beth Lambert and husband, Mark of Franklin; and five grandchildren, Clifton Russell Dove, Beth Lynn Dove, Jesse Caleb Lambert, Jacob Harrison Lambert and Jared Allen Lambert. .

Pastors Robert Anderson and Susie Echols conducted the funeral Wednesday at Franklin United Methodist Church. Burial was at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.

Memorial donations may be made to the Franklin United Methodist Church or Pendleton Manor.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Basagic Funeral Home, Franklin.
