Aletha Raper Pearce, 90, died Friday, July 8, 2011, at the Meadows.

She was born February 14, 1921, in the Centerville Community of Itawamba County to Rev. D.R. Raper and Viola Smith Raper.

She was a Member of the Mantachie United Methodist Church where she attended the Wesley Sunday School Class and Sang in the choir.

She was a Graduate of Itawamba Agricultural High School where she was an All State Forward on the 1940 IAHS State Basketball Champion Team.
She was a Homemaker, Housewife and Seamstress who enjoyed Sewing for her Family and Friends.
She was an avid Sports Fan and enjoyed watching her Grandchildren Play Ball.
She loved her Family and her Church Family.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Mantachie United Methodist Church with Rev. Ronnie Goodwin, Rev. Bobby Hankins and Rev. Ron Schwake officiating.
Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Mantachie is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her Husband of 71 years, John Marvin Pearce; two Sons, Robert Lee Pearce and Wife, Sarah; and John David Pearce and Wife, Diane; one Daughter, Judy Ann Collier; all of Mantachie; seven Grandchildren, Scott Collier and Wife, Kerri; Nancy Nichols; Allison Turner and Husband, David; and Leigh Anne Nichols and Husband, Richard; all of Mantachie; Rick Collier and Wife, Stephanie, of Fulton; Elise Rutland and Husband, Joseph, of Calhoun City; and Amber Nowlin and Husband, Todd, of Ecru; and nine Great Grandchildren, Ivan Collier, Zac Franks, Lauren Collier, Emma Nichols, Stone Collier, Makenna Nowlin, Breanna Nowlin, John Brayden Nowlin and Alexis Kate Turner.

She was preceded in death by her Parents; two Sisters, Maudie Rushing and Mildred Senter; and an Infant Brother.

Pallbearers will be Rick Collier, Scott Collier, Zac Franks, Ivan Collier, Max Senter, Bill Camp, Joseph Rutland and Todd Nowlin.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. today and from 1:30 p.m. until Service time Sunday at the Church.
