Mardee was born January 26, 1942 in Muscatine, IA, the daughter of Robert and Bertha (Smith) Freese. She retired as an LPN from Aspen Health and Rehab, Silvis. She married John "Skip" Blunke on February 14, 1989 in Hampton. He passed away on August 1, 2016. Mardee enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and going to the Silvis Library.
Survivors include her children: Burl (Jolene) Anderson, Cheri Hafner, Renee (Brett) Waugh, Sean Johnson, Theresa Johnson, Shannon Johnson, David (T.J.)Johnson, and James Johnson, stepson John Paul Blunke, several grandchildren, and great- grandchildren, and her sisters Karen Wutzke and Susan Blair.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved stepmother Helen Freese, three brothers (Gary, Steve, and Tom) and a grandson.
