He leaves one brother Tiffy R. Stone and wife Dorothy of San Diego, California; three sisters, Ruby L. Baker, Virgil Hyde, and Lucille Riebel all of Memphis; three sisters-in-law, Nellie Stone of Memphis, Bertha Stone of Chapin, Illinois and Leona Stone of Peoria, Illinois; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Arlie G., Vern E., Richard M., William S. and Hazen.
He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. Mr. Stone never married and spent his life caring for his aged mother following his father's death. He gave himself unselfishly for the happiness of others.
Services were from Payne Chapel in Memphis, Missouri on Saturday, November 6, 1971, at 2:20 p.m. The Rev. Howard Merchant officiating. Body bearers were Clark Mustoe, Burl Hardman, Russell Lee Mathes, Victor Patton, Albert Lancaster, and Gordon Thompson.
Burial was in the Memphis Cemetery.
