Richard M. Stone, Painter of Chapin Expires Tuesday

 

Richard Morris Stone, a resident of Chapin since 1931, died in Jacksonville at 3 p.m. Tuesday after a rather short illness. He was a painter by trade.

 

He was born near Memphis, Missouri, March 17, 1891, the son of Edward and Ida Stone. On March 26, 1944 he married Bertha Northrup of Chapin.

 

His mother and his widow survive. His mother resides in Memphis, Missouri.


He also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Baker, Mrs. Clark Riebel, and Mrs.

Merritt Hyde, all of Missouri; and four brothers, William and Cody Stone of Missouri, Tiffie of Michigan, and Arlie of Tilton, Illinois.


He was preceded in death by two brothers.

The body was taken to the Cody and Sons Memorial Home, and will be returned to the residence Thursday morning.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the family residence in Chapin with the Rev. H. A. Timm of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in the Concord Cemetery.
