George Clarence Deihr, Sr., 82, of RFD 1, died Saturday in Mary Washington Hospital. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Madeline M. Deihr; two daughters, Mrs. Madeline E. Catlett and Mrs. Delores N. Caitlin, both of Spotsylvania; five sons, George C. Deihr, Jr. of Loch Haven, Md.; Charles W Deihr of Alexandria; Henry A. Deihr, Sr of Norfolk; G. Linwood Struder of Stafford and Ralph G. Deihr of Fredericksburg, 29 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11am, Tuesday at Wheeler & Thompson Funeral Home. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery in Alexandria at 1pm. Officiating will be the Rev. L. C. Synan, the Rev. W. S. Shrophire and the Rev. H. B. Johnson.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30pm.
Pallbearers will be Herbert S. Brooks, Garnett L. Smith, Harold Gearhart, Ronald H. Henry, James S. Hines and James M. Stone.
