Funeral Services for Lt. Shannon Stone, age 39, of Brownwood, will be held at 11:00 am Monday July 11, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Brownwood with David Barnum officiating, interment will follow in Jordan Springs Cemetery under the direction of Davis Morris Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 5:30-7:30 pm Sunday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Stone passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011 in Arlington, Tx.

Shannon was born September 24, 1971 in Cleburne, Texas to Al and SuZann (Bartoo) Stone. He married Jenny Pack on December 19, 1998 in Stephenville, Texas.

Shannon was a devoted man, to his community, to his country, and especially to his family. He loved to watch his son Cooper play sports and they were inseparable. He, Jenny, and Cooper enjoyed going to baseball games together.
Shannon served his community as a firefighter for 18 years and was a member of the Brownwood Professional Firefighters Association Local 2863, and the Brownwood Fireman's Relief and Retirement Fund where he served as the Vice Chairman for the past five years. He also worked as an EMT, certified peace officer, and as a Rescue Technician of Turn 2 Rescue Truck at the Texas Motor Speedway for 12 years.

He served his country working natural disaster relief after hurricane Ike and Katrina and fighting wildfires. He traveled to New York City to honor his fellow firefighters during the 1st year anniversary of September 11. Shannon was an organ donor who benefitted over 40 lives and gave the gift of sight.

He is survived by his wife Jenny Pack Stone of Brownwood; son, Cooper Stone, of Brownwood; parents, Al and SuZann Stone of Cleburne; a brother, Chad Stone and wife Heather of Grandview, Tx; nieces, Kinsey and Katy Stone of Grandview, Tx; a cousin, Mark Heath and wife Becky of Lubbock; mother and father in law, Jim and Marilyn Pack of Stephenville; brother-in-law, Jody Pack of Beaumont, Tx; and a nephew, Justin Pack of Stephenville.
