Rev. Cecil H. Carroll, 86, Industry, died Thursday morning, April 8, 2004, at McDonough District Hospital, Macomb.

He was born Sept. 6, 1917, in Orange County, Ind., the son of Herman and Loto (Whittinghill) Carroll. He married Audrey Richey Nov. 13, 1937, in Terre Haute, Ind. She survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Norman (Joan) Carroll, Martinsville, and Cecil (Sharon) Carroll, Jr., Clifton; three daughters, Norma (Richard) Krohe, Industry, Mary Gleckler, Schaumburg, and Barbara Carroll, Charleston, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Glenn Carroll, Martinsville, and David (Jeannie) Carroll, Bourbonnais; four sisters, Louise (Robert) Hale, Champaign, Norma (Bill) Shotts, Pleasant Hill, Shirley (Bill) Lowe, East LeRoy, Mich., and Ruth (Jim) Yates, Casey; numerous nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Bland and Evelyn O'Rourke.

He graduated from Metcalf High School in 1934. He was a farmer in Indiana until he began his ministry in the Church of the Nazarene in 1950. He was ordained as a minister in the Church of the Nazarene Aug. 6, 1955, and for over 50 years he served the following churches in Illinois: Sidell, Bethel Church of the Nazarene (Arenzville), Pittsfield, Chrisman, Pana, Salem and Mansfield. He served his church on the Illinois District Advisory Board and was the treasurer for the Nazarene World Missionary Society for 35 years. He was a member of the Salem Grace Church of the Nazarene.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at the Beardstown Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in the Beardstown City Cemetery.
