Ezra Hugh Packer, 68, of Fielding, Utah, was fatally injured when the vehicle in which he was riding overturned in Blacksmith Fork Canyon, 20 miles southeast of Logan, Utah.

Ezra was a son of William E and Elizabeth Poutz Packer.

He married Elizabeth Hodges in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Ezra (Ez) lived most of his life in Fielding, Utah, where he was a turkey and poultry man and drove a Bear River High School Bus during the school year.

He was an active in the LDS Church and served an Australian Mission in his youth.

Surviving are his widow, Fielding, Utah; a son Thane Packer, Logan, Utah; and a daughter, Mrs Owen (Colleen) Asplund, West Virginia; seven grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters.

Burial was held in the Fielding City Cemetery, Fielding, Utah.
