Lusannah died in 1829, aged 77 years. Samson had her buried on the farm, and requested to be buried beside her. He died in 1834 aged 91 years. When the farm was sold, the remains of Samson and Lusannah were taken up and buried in the Wilcox burying-ground near Castle Creek, Broome County, NY, about four miles from the Samson French farm.

At her death, her husband wrote:
"Lusannah my most affectionate companion & wife died September the 11 day 1829 and was 77 years old wanting 9 days & died in my house in Chenango in the county of Broom in the state of New York & we lived as husband and wife together over sixty years & although death came on Holy order it came too soon & I felt the great loss & I myself was at that time 87 eight-seven wanting four days but I think we shant be but a little while parted."
