Bernard S. "Bernie" Parrish, 93, of Frankfort, died at 4:30 a.m. Monday, July 4, 2011, at the Clinton House Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born April 10, 1918 in Chebanse, Illinois to the late Rolland Vernon and Bernice Dick Parrish. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sandy Hoover; brothers, Jack, Dwayne, Lawrence, Lloyd, Elmo and a sister, Inez.
His first marriage was to Gwendolyn Platt. He married Gladys Darlene Thomas on July 14, 1956 in Decatur, Illinois. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Pamela Benner of Lafayette; a brother, Lester Parrish (wife: Norma) of Illinois; a sister, Marjorie Smith (husband: Leo) of Illinois; 5 grandchildren, Valerie Goodwin and Jeff Hoover, both of Florida, Melanie Stambaugh of Frankfort, Kyle Benner in the U.S. Army and Ashley Benner of Lafayette and 3 great-grandchildren.
