Anna Marie Becker emigrated to America with her brother, Nicolai in 1871. She married John Streit on March 24, 1876 in Faribault, Minnesota.
They settled on a farm in Ashton, Iowa...her brother Nicolai's would later purchase a farm about a mile from the Striets. Eight children were born to them, and infant who died in infancy, Helena, Michael, Anna Marie, Nicholas John, Mary Helena, George J., and Anthony Bernard.
The Streit farm is still in the Streit family...and is a "Centenial Farm."
