Suggested edit: Another angel received her wings when the Lord called Anna E. Dutton, 97, Kokomo, to her heavenly home at 7:24 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006 at Manor Care in Kokomo. Anna was born March 24, 1908, in Windfall, the daughter of John and Sarah Alice (Stout) Copp. She was the youngest of six children.

On Oct. 29, 1924, she married Floyd R. Dutton, in Windfall. He died July 28, 1983. They lived most of their married life in the Russiaville and Burlington areas. Together they raised five children and one granddaughter.

Anna was a homemaker. She was also a nurturer and caregiver to many. She was a member of the Windfall Church of the Brethren and later attended Howard Church of the Brethren.

Anna attended Windfall schools. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, hunting dandelion greens, "T.V. Guide" crossword puzzles, cooking large Sunday family dinners and rocking the grandchildren until their feet touched the floor.

She was a very loving and giving person. She was known as "Grandma" or "Granny" to just about everyone who knew her. To a special few, she was known as "Nana."

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Metz, Burlington, and Keita Dutton, Kokomo; one son, Boyd Dutton and wife Kay, Phlox; a granddaughter whom she raised, Bunti Smith and husband Robert, Deer Creek; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Dutton, Flora; two sons-in-law, Jim Hatton, Kokomo (formerly of Phlox), and Bill Shannon, Kokomo; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, John "Bud" Dutton; a daughter, Alice C. Hatton; two great-grandsons, Aaron Muncy and Reice Perkins; one son-in-law, Oscar Metz; three brothers, Albert, Paul, and Jesse Copp, and two sisters, Martha Henry and Bernice Turner.

For those of us who had know Anna Emoline before her final illness, all that we had at the end was a part of her. But God in his infinite mercy came and took her home, so that now she can be whole again.

Services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Neptune Funeral Home, 44 Michigan Road., Burlington, with Pastor Jeff Tomson officiating. Entombment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
