Benito "Sonny" Silva Jr. was born in Albuquerque, NM on April 1, 1946.
Benito passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the VA Hospital, Albuquerque, NM at the age of 63.
Sonny was preceded in death by his father, Benito Silva.
Sonny is survived by his mother, Mary Agnes Craig, sisters, Rebecca Morales and her husband, Arthur Morales, Betty Torres and husband, Victor Torres, Agnes M. Stapleton and Eleanor Cordes, four nieces, seven nephews, aunt, Estefanita Sánchez of Seattle, WA, Dan Silva of Denver, CO, aunt, Emeline Silva of Denver, CO, as well as other family and friends who loved him and will miss him.
Sonny graduated from Manzano High School, joined the United States Navy, United States Coast Guard and the Merchant Marines.
Sonny was also a member of the American Legion, Post 99 for 39 years.
Sonny will be buried at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 1:30 p.m.
