SPRINGFIELD - Mary L. Bisson, 81, died July 3, 2011, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, after a brief illness.

She was born Sept. 5, 1929, the daughter of Edward H. and Hilda (Reid) Labonta, in Springfield.

She graduated from Springfield High School in 1948.

In 1965, she married Arthur M. Bisson in Springfield. He predeceased her in 1993.

Mrs. Bisson was employed at Fellows Gear Shaper Co., The Taylor Tie Co. and then at the Springfield Family Center for many years, where she began as a cook and went on to be a bookkeeper. She was known for her coleslaw.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Women of the Moose 679.

She enjoyed making plastic canvas creations and doing ceramics at the Springfield Senior Center, as well as visiting Wells Beach, Maine.

Survivors include a son, Edward Bisson, and a sister, Martha Lucas, both of Springfield; many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 7, at the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield, where friends may call from 10 a.m. prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Springfield.
