Ernest Sanders, age 87, died on Sunday, June 5, 2005 in Oregon. He was born in the Glenwood section of Vernon to the late Chester and Blanche Sanders and had lived in California and Oregon for the past 60 years. He had served in the United States Army during World War II for five years, serving in Japan. He was a self-employed contractor before his retirement.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Alfred, Russell, Arthur S., and Lewis C., his sisters, Beatrice Sanders, Dora Longcore, Elsie Margarum, Myrtle Gould, and Vivian Raser, and his daughter, Jane Sanders. Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dot, two sons, John and Ronald, both of Oregon, one daughter, Barbara, of Oregon, his brother Edward, of the Beemerville section of Wantage, his sister, Ila Kozminsky, of Franklin, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Private cremation services were held at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex, N.J."
