Former Resident of Lafayette Tom Nunley Jr. passed away September 27th at his home in Mission, Texas. Tom, born in Oakland, December 21, 1943, graduated from Acalanes HS. He retired as a Sergeant Major with a 33-year career in the Army/National Guard. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Barbara [Jean (formerly Burmister) whom he married in Reno 19 Aug 1972]; sons, Brad and Bruce Burmister of Concord; sisters, Norene Barclay (Judge Robert) of Hilmar, and Patty Schroeder (Gordon) of Clayton; two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Tom and Hazel [Mcdermid] Nunley; sister, Julie Ann; and son, Brian Burmister.

After his return from Desert Storm they RV'ed through Canada, Mexico and the USA. Tom enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid line dancer."

Reunion committee notes say that he died of cancer and the family had suggested donations to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
