Ezra Shauver, Salamonia Dies

Ezra D. Shauver, 73, Salamonia, died Monday evening at the Jay County Hospital. He had been in failing health for several weeks.

He was born June 22, 1898 in Noble Township, Jay County, son of the late Daniel and Anna Gillett Shauver. On December 30, 1916 he was married to Hazel A. Kimble, who survives.

Surviving besides his wife are five sons, Marion E., James R., Harold (Buss) all of Salamonia; Howard P., Yuba City, California; and Richard L., Madison Township; four daughters, Mrs. Merle (Geraldine) Strock, Warsaw; Mrs. Bazil (Madonna) Betz, R. R. 6, Portland; Mrs. Robert (Ramona) Lee, Anderson and Mrs. James (Gloria) Pfeifer Salamonia; 31 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Shauver was the caretaker of the Salamonia Cemetery.

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 1:30 P.M. at the Williamson & Spencer Funeral Home with Donald Potter, minister of the Salamonia Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Salamonia Cemetery.
