Johnnie went by the Name of Louise. She was born in Isle of Wight County, and then at the age of 13 her family moved to Norfolk. She went to work at the Atlantic City Knitting Mill. She was the Clerk of the Ballentine Church of God where her brother Earle, was minister for years. She was married to George Brown and they had six children, George, Jr., Christine, Francis, Edith, Randolph, and Robert. She was like the mother of the family after her Mother died. She watched out for her brothers and sisters and their children. She suffered a severe heart attack and was gravely ill. But she stayed alive until she got the annoucement in the mail of her son's opening his psychiatry practice. Some how the annoucement arrived at his mother's the very next morning after he mailed it at 9:00 the night before, traveling 250-300 miles in a matter of 10 or 11 hours. She passed away that night knowing that her son had worked hard and accomplished his goal.
