Billy Glen Jones

Billy Glen Jones, 63, went to be with the Lord Sunday morning (May 27, 2001) at Indian Path Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born in Wise County, Va., he was a son of the late William Jones and Dolly Porter Jones Bear. He was retired from Raytheon. He was a member of the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Delmar Jones ; and a sister, Ann Frazier.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Mary Amos Jones; two daughters, Elizabeth Childers and husband, Wayne, Jennifer Grubb and husband, Brian; two sons, Jack Jones, Jamie Jones and wife, Gina; two sisters, Margie Smith and husband, Guy, and Chris Conner; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Jamie, Josh, David, Jacob, Brianna and Jaylyn; two great-grandchildren, Mikey and Peyton; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at East Lawn Funeral Home, and other times at the residence. Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Jack K. Forbes officiating.

Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gunnings Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ building fund.
