Katherine Deiber's Obituary (From Denison Review):

Kathine Greder, daughter of Jacob Sr and Katherine Klein Greder, was both Oct 8, 1871 in Mietesheim Alsace-Lorraine, Germany. In early infancy, she was baptized in the name of the Holy Trinity, and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

At the age of 16, she came to America with her parents, living in Nishnabotny township, Crawford county. She was married to Jacob Deiber February 19, 1891, a union to which 5 children were born. Mrs Deiber continued to farm with her children and also did much work as a practical nurse in her community. Later she made her home with her daughter, Mrs Henry Behm. In poor health in recent years, she died at the Henry Behm home Friday night, June 20, 1958.

Surviving her death are the following 5 children: (1) Mrs Emil Spack (Aspinwall), (2) Walter (Denison), (3) Mrs Anna Wiese (Arion), (4) George Deiber (Buck Grove) and (5) Mrs Feieda Behm (Denison). Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, a brother-in-law (George Ruch, Vail), a sister-in-law (Mate Greder, Oxnard, CA).

Mrs Katherine Greder Deiber had been a member of the Zion Lutheran church in Denison for a number of years. Here funeral services were held Monday afternoon with the Rev Carl Schmidt in charge. The ladies choir san " The Old Rugged Cross" and "I'm but a Stranger Here". Interment was made in the Washington township cemetery [Saint Petri Lutheran cemetery].

Pallbearers were George Deiber, Glen Deiber, Roy Deiber, Elmer Spack, Victor Spack and Melvin Weise.
