The people of Washington Township were greatly grieved last week over the untimely death of Mr. Jacob Deiber. Mr. Deiber was an industrious and much like farmer. He was a little less than 30 years of age at the time of his death. He was born in Meitesheim, Alsace, Germany and came to this country when but a youth.
He was married in 1891 to Katherine Greder, and 5 children blessed this union. About 3 weeks ago Mr. Deiber was afflicted with measles, which was followed by a peculiar blood disease, which made his blood so thin that it oozed through the mucous membrane of his mouth and nose. Physicians were unable to check the flow of blood, and he slowly bled to death. Mr. Deiber was just about to join one of the insurance fraternities, but death came before he had the opportunity of making provision for his family. Th funeral services were held in Defiance at eh Evangelical church.
