CONKLE, Robert Lloyd (Bob) age 73, of Riverside, dearly beloved husband, father, brother and friend to many, peacefully left this life on Friday, October 12, 2007 at Hospice of Dayton after a recent diagnosis of cancer. Robert was born in January 15, 1934 the youngest of six children to the late George Washington and Jennie Mae Conkle in Chattanooga, TN. He joined the United States Air Force at the tender age of 17. As a Vietnam and Korean Veteran, he proudly served his country, honorably retiring as Master Sergeant after 21 years of service in 1972. He continued as an electrical technician at Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a civil service employee retiring after 27 years in 1999. Bob was an active member of the Milton Athletic Club serving 2 terms as Vice President. He was also a member of VFW Post 657. He was always graciously helping others. He enjoyed the company of his many good friends. He loved working with his hands, building things, woodworking, gardening and fishing. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Henry, James, LeRoy, Perry and brother in-law, Lewis Broyles. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Aida (Mondragon) Conkle; sons, Roger A. Conkle of Brookville, Steven W Conkle of Guthrie, OK; daughter, Debbie Y. (Donnie) Egnor of Dayton; grandchildren, Joshua Egnor, Nathanial (Amanda) Egnor, Rebecca Egnor; great grandchildren, Jacob Egnor, Noah Egnor of Dayton; sister, Sarah Cook of Ashland, KY; sisters in-law, Elizabeth Broyles of Dayton, Lydia Mondragon, Esther Janes, Gloria Re of CA; nieces, Pandy of Dayton, Donna Ray of KY, Lee Ann Mondragon and Sandy Projetti of CA; nephews, Clifford Broyles of Dayton, Carey Mondragon, Michael James of CA, Perry Richard, Ike, Robert, Larry and Lloyd Conkle of TN and many neighbors and close friends. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday October 16, 2007 at the Dayton National Cemetery. Services in care of TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL.
