Barron County News Shield - Norma Huisman Hunt, 84, Sacramento, Calif., died peacefully at home Sunday, April 17, 2011. She was born Jan. 15, 1927, to Martin and Mary Stearns at Webster City, Iowa. She married Wendell Huisman on June 21, 1946, and they resided in Prairie Farm, Wis., for 23 years. Wendell passed away in 1973. Norma later lived in Illinois, Florida and California. She married Clarence Hunt in 1975. Norma had a great faith in God and followed the teachings of Jesus. Surviving are children Kathryn Huisman of Sacramento, Wanda Huisman of Texas/Viet Nam, Ronald (Kathy) Huisman of Las Vegas, Nev., Lavonne (David) Stipp of Cornell, Ill., Loretta Darby of Pell City, Ala., and Phyllis Moyo; a son-in-law Harvey Topinka of North Port, Fla.; 24 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins; a brother Lyle (Ruth) Stearns of Delaware; and sisters Violet Kirschenman of Iowa and Ruby Stearns of Illinois. In addition to her husband Wendell, Norma was preceded in death by a daughter Elaine Topinka in 2009. Services were held in California. Local services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, from the Ridgeland Community Center, with burial immediately following at Glenwood Cemetery. A luncheon is planned after the burial at the community center. Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 29, from Rausch Lundeen Funeral Home, Dallas.
