Daughter of Heinrich and Anna Margaret Rhode Simpsen, she was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran, Anchor in 1897. She married widower Emil Leopold Steinlicht on Oct. 25, 1911 (obituary- Oct 10 church records) at Anchor. They farmed near Sibley, IL retiring there. She served as step-mother to his six children and they had three daughters:
