FAIRVIEW -- Oren E. Botkins, age 81, of Rural Route 1 died at 10:40 a.m. Sunday, May 23, 1993, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

Born March 28, 1912, in London Mills to Harvey and Myrtle (Carver) Botkins, he married Josephine Palmerio on June 9, 1951, in Galesburg. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Sheryl (Steve) Oltman of rural Farmington and Charlene (Mark) Ball of Lewistown; two step-grandchildren; two sisters, Bertha Perkinson of Peoria and Alma Kline of Grand Rapids, MI; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

He was a coal miner at Midland Coal Co. in Rapatee for 40 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of District 12 Local 6756 and Farmington American Legion Post 140. He was a World War II Army veteran.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Anderson Funeral Home in Farmington where visitation will be one hour before the services. The Rev. Gene Hallstrom will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Farmington.

Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 140.
