CHARLES F. SAXON DIES HERE AT AGE OF 79 YEARS
Charles F. Saxon, son of Daniel and Elizabeth Saxon, was born August 4, 1869, at Mathersville, Illinois and passed away at Mercy hospital Anamosa, Iowa, on November 28, 1948, at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 24 days.
On June 6, 1906, Mr. Saxon was united in Marriage to Miss Lucy Ann Brunner of Marble Rock, Iowa, and to this union two children were born, Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Johnson of Center Junction, Iowa, and Carl Brunner Saxon of DeWitt, Iowa.
As a young man Mr. Saxon moved with his parents who pioneered Frontier County, Nebraska, and in 1895 came to Jones County, Iowa, where he has resided ever since. In this community he has served as township committeeman, census enumerator and school board director. For years he has been a member of the Wyoming Presbyterian Church where he has served as Sunday School Superintendent, trustee and elder.
His life has been an active one and he is the last member of a family of 9 children being preceded in death by 4 brothers, George, John, Dan and James, and by 4 sisters Mary Saxon, Mrs. Jane Bowman, Mrs. A.G. Alden, and Mrs. Reynold Fishwild.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, his two children, two grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
The Lord hath given and he Lord hath taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
