RUSHVILLE — Charles H. Schlechtweg, 51, longtime Rushville resident, passed away July 2, 2011.
Charles was born July 21, 1959 in Rushville, to John and Mary (Owens) Schlechtweg. He married Debbie Gross July 12, 1990 and she survives. Charles worked as a welder at Visteon in Connersville for 17 years and was a Union Steward for nine years, then went to O'Neal Steel in Shelbyville where he had been the last five years. He was a 1977 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School.
Charles leaves behind his wife, Debbie Schlechtweg of Rushville; his parents, John O. And Mary Schlechtweg of Rushville; two sons, John Michael Schlechtweg and Lathan Walker, both of Rushville; three daughters, Casey, Sarah and Jessica Schlechtweg of Rushville; one brother, Michael Schlechtweg (and wife, Donna) of Andersonville.
Charles was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Tillison, in February 2011.
A funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 6 at Moster Mortuary. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 5 at Moster Mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Rushville.
Charles will be cremated after the funeral service, half of his ashes will be at Hopewell, half will be in the Mountains of North Carolina
