Revolutionary War veteran: Participated in the raid on Fort William and Mary on 14-15 December 1774. Major in 2nd New Hampshire Regiment. Lieutenant colonel and colonel of 1st New Hampshire Regiment. After the war, was a state representative and state senator (Batchellor, New Hampshire State Papers, vol. 21, pages 721-722).
