Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 2, at Crestwood Chapel for Bertha Moore, age 94, of Gadsden who went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, Saturday, October 30, 1999. Rev. R.H. Barclay officiated. Burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home was in charge.
Mrs. Moore was born on July 15, 1905 in West Blocton, Alabama, to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Guy. She came to Gadsden in 1936 and was the first female to be hired at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Plant in Gadsden. The barn and school house at Noccalula Falls were built by her grandfather, Asbury Ashworth, in Bibb County, which were moved to Gadsden in 1967. She loved fishing, gardening and flowers. She was a much beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She always gave unselfishly her love and assistance to all those who needed her. She was a strong Christian who attended Bellevue Baptist Church.
She will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A.B. (Trap) Moore; son, Charles Moore; daughter, Ruth Myles; and son-in-law, Dan Phillips.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Ralph E. (Kathleen) Moore, Tommy S. (Bernice) Moore and daughter, Lou E. Phillips; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ora Lee Brown, Cambria, Illinois; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Randy Phillips, Hunter Phillips, Jerry Moore, Alex Moore, Stephen Frost and Barry Drenner.
Honorary Pallbearers were all staff and employees of McGuffey Health Care, Dr. Sanders and Dr. Ken Smith.

An error in the obituary. Aaron E. (Trap) Moore is her husband's name.

Aaron Moore and Bertha Guy were married at McCulley Hill in Bibb County Alabama, 15 November 1920 by Rev. W.H. Walker.

After Aaron's death in 1977, Bertha married Virgil Lee Cartee.
