Grace was originally from PA, moving first to New York City, NY and then to DE in the early 1970s. A talented homemaker, she was a devoted fan of Elvis Presley throughout her life. Grace greatly enjoyed playing the lottery at the local Cumberland Farms and always sent in her Publisher's Clearing House entry, knowing that she could be the next "big winner." Grace would not want a big spectacle made of her passing. She would think it was unnecessary and would not like being "the center of attention." Grace's only wish in leaving this life was that her beloved grandchildren would make the most of themselves and be happy.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard Garrett; their 3 sons, Robert R. Garrett, and his wife, Kelley S., of New Castle, Richard W. Garrett, and his wife, Ellen M., of Smyrna, and Bryan K. Garrett, of New Castle; 6 brothers; 5 sisters; 8 grandchildren; and a great granddaughter, all of whom she loved to spoil.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Christine, whose help will always be appreciated.
The committal service will be held privately at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Bear.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Heartland Hospice House, 261 Chapman Rd., Ste. 100, Newark, DE 19702; or to the Wilmington Manor Fire Company, PO Box 631, New Castle, DE 19720.
