George Gronkowski, 27, Ill for Two Years, Dies
George Edgar Gronkowski, 27 of 1018 East Garfield avenue, died at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday in the Decatur and Macon County Hospital. He had been in failing health two years of a heart ailment.
Born in Decatur Oct. 25, 1919, he attended Decatur schools and was employed at the Oakes plant. He was a member of the English Lutheran Church and the Loys Oder of Moose.
He was married to Rosemary Marques in St. Charles, MO., Oct. 31, 1942.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Gloria and Constance, also his mother, Mrs. Augusta Gronkowski, all at home. There is a brother, Oscar, and a sister Mrs. Lucille Sweet, both of Decatur.
The body is at Moran & Sons funeral home where friends may call after 7 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with burial in Fairlawn Cemetery.
