He was born July 1, 1930, in Burley, Idaho, a son of Clarence and Mary Edna Lewis Stocks.
He married Margaret Yvonne Smith on June 16, 1956, in Norfolk, England. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS temple.
He was reared and educated in Burley, Idaho.
He joined the U.S. Marines and later enlisted in the Air Force in which he served for 20 years as a communication and electronic technician. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, and was awarded the Air Force Commendation medal with Oak Leaf Cluster. He retired in 1969.
He was a deputy sheriff in Malad, Idaho, and at the time of his death was employed at Morton Thiokol as foreman of a test site.
He was active in the Air Force Reserve, the American Legion and LDS church.
Surviving are his wife of Honeyville; two sons and three daughters: Martin Lee Stocks, Provo; Jason Don Stocks, Honeyville; Mrs. Curt (Karen Denice) Menlove, Perry; Mrs.
Jeffery (Donna Marie) Pett, Brigham City; Mrs. Dennis Ray (Stephanie Lauren) Edward, Tremonton; 11 grandchildren.
Also surviving are his morther of Burley, Idaho; two brother and four sisters: C. Preston Stocks, Burley, Idaho; Frank R. Stocks, Norwalk, Calif; Mrs. Chloe Call, Long Beach Calif.;Mrs. Alice Hughes, Samaria, Idaho; Mrs. Mary Jane Ramsey, Boise, Idaho; and Mrs. Florence Wiseman, Garden Grove, Calif.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Interment will be in Calls Fort Cemetery.
