Susan Ingram Story, of Opelika, Alabama, was born on October 20, 1915 and passed away on Monday, April 25, 2011 at her residence with her family nearby. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 64 years, Andrew C. Story, Sr.; her parents, Thomas Oscar Ingram, Sr. and Mollie Ingram; and sister, Ellen Amanda Pihl. Susan is survived by her son, Andrew C. (Ruth) Story, Jr., of Opelika; her brother, Thomas Oscar (Mary) Ingram, Jr., of Marvyn; her three granddaughters, Michelle Henry, of Birmingham, Rowena (Tal) Kitchens, of Montgomery, and Jodi (Marc) Wells, of Opelika; and her two great grandsons, Andrew and Lucas Wells, of Opelika. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will truly be missed.
A graveside service will be held at Garden Hills Cemetery on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., with Dr. Rusty Sowell officiating. The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the caregivers who were such an important part of Mrs. Story's life and ours. Thank you to Sally Allfred, Pat Hillyer, Rhonda Hamby, and Fran Hill for all that you have done for our family.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Providence Baptist Church Building Fund or to the hospice organization that provided so much comfort to our family over the last two weeks, SouthernCare, Inc, 7607 Sydney Curve, Suite B, Montgomery, Alabama, 36117.
