Arthur James "Pete" Gant, age 84 of Whitney died in the Whitney Hospital Friday evening, October 3. Services were Sunday, October 5, at 4 p.m. at Marshall and Marshall. Rev. Eddie Booth officiating. Burial is Bethlehem Cemetery.
Mr. Gant was born December 13, 1901 in Whitney. The son of Jessie and Ida Jones Gant. He married Anna Rose Mae "Mink" Miller on December 19, 1936. He lived all his life in the Whitney area. He was a retired farmer. He was a baptist. Survivors: his wife, Rose Mae "Mink" Gant of Whitney, 1 son, Ronald Miller Gant of Whitney, 1 daughters, Nancy Karen York of Waco and Jon Carolyn Allison of Joshua, 1 brother, Harley Gant of Whitney, 3 sisters, Rovena Petty of Alvarado, Jessie Mae Arnold of Waco and Nettie Ruth Frazier of Waco, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
